"Edson’s vivid portrayal of the urban area, as well as the working class and underclass, creates a vision of Saint John that highlights the discrepancy between the pre-modern idyllic notion of life in Atlantic Canada and the more complicated reality of the region."

EMWF, 9 September, 2007

The writers' fest was fun...I met Leon Rooke, Rawi Hage, Trevor Cole, Paul Glennon, Neil Smith....Drank some wine the night before, and the hangover settled my nerves for the reading and everything went well.

Am relieved and looking forward to promoting A Place of Pretty Flowers and hopefully doing more readings in the future.
